A team of University students won the Australian National final of the Global Management Challenge 2010. The ability to work as a team secured victory for the team of students who won the Australian edition of the Global Management Challenge 2010.

After Angola and Ghana, the Global Management Challenge comes now to the Ivory Coast and Benin. The first edition of the Global Management Challenge in Ivory Coast and Benin started in late January. The local organisation of the competition expects to reach nearly 200 teams in both countries.

Brazil was amongst the first countries to extend the internationalization of the Global Management Challenge. The number of teams entering the competition grew by 18% in the last year and is very popular in academia. It was in 1981 when the Global Management Challenge first came to Brazil.

Those interested in participating in the 32nd edition of this competition have until the end of April to present their teams. Last year was historic for the Global Management Challenge. For the first time this competition of strategy and management, organized by Expresso and SDG, received entries from 756 teams. For this edition the organization wants to maintain or even exceed this number and strengthen links with former participants.

The Global Management Challenge has this year introduced one more novelty in Portugal. A security partnership established with Panda.

Special teams, comprising of former participants, compete in this edition of the Global Management Challenge.

The 2010 edition of the Global Management Challenge started with 756 teams, a number of competitors never before achieved.

Students put knowledge and intuition into practice. The aptly named Gyozelemre (To Victory) team – sponsored by one of the main backers of the Hungarian competition, Ernst and Young – came top in the national competition and represented their country in the international final held in Russia on 17th May.

The city of Khanty-Mansiysk, in Siberia, hosted in May, the International Final, for the 2009 Edition of the Global Management Challenge. There were 25 countries competing and the winner was the Ukrainian Team.

The first edition of the Global Management Challenge Ghana was held in Accra, on Saturday 20th March 2010, at the Alisa Hotel. GH consult, one of the eight teams that made it to the final, emerged winners with a share price of 2.131, beating strong contenders Olive Team (2.039), and Fabho Incorporated (2.010) to second and third place respectively.

The team "i9", sponsored by SENAC, won the Brazilian final of the Global Management Challenge, after overcoming 202 other teams during the 14 weeks of competition. The five-member team won the prize of R$ 5000.00 and also the right to represent Brazil in the international finals of the Global Management Challenge, to be held May 17 in the Siberian city of Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, with all expenses paid.

This year Grenoble Graduate School of Business (GEM) has decided to have its 46 MBA Full-Time Students participate in the 2009 Global Management Challenge edition.

Global Management Challenge continues its further expansion in countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The jubilee edition - Poland celebrates 10 years of Global Management Challenge. Expansion of the competition began, in Eastern Europe, ten years ago with the launch of the competition in Poland.The entry of Poland into the Global Management Challenge was the gateway to this challenge in Eastern Europe.

The Global Management Challenge in Denmark facilitates student driven workshops and events. The competition is an effective platform for companies to meet participating teams of High Potential students.

Hungary is taking part in the Global Management Challenge, a worldwide competition to find the world’s most promising young managerial material, for the second time this year. At a launch party marking the start of the Hungarian national competition of the Global Management Challenge, the official partners explained how the contest is valuable not only to all participants, or just the eventual winners, but also to the partner firms involved in the competition.

Teams from the Universidade Católica won the first and second editions of this challenge. An achievement we reflect on, many years later. 30 years ago the first edition of the Global Management Challenge, was won by a team of Universidade Católica.
